📋 Description

• Responsible for Mechanical Nuclear Island Support Systems (MNISS) engineering activities that support the BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactor (SMR) design. • Activities focus on the following: 1. Determination of radioactive material content in various gaseous, liquid process and effluent streams. • Measurement, indication, and recording of gamma radiation levels at strategic locations throughout the plant. • Monitoring of multiple parameters inside containment. • Collection of representative liquid and gaseous samples for analysis. • Responsible for development of facility drawings and component specifications. • Plan / develop technical and management processes to improve both team and customer productivity. • Provide support to the Licensing organization for regulatory related deliverables. • Responsible for analysis and design work supporting requirements specifications. • Interface with cross-functional teams and departments to complete these tasks. • Improve areas of project execution and department management through Six Sigma methodology. • Support development efforts for both new products and new technology. • Responsible to undertake the necessary corrective and preventive actions resulting from Quality non-compliance monitoring and audit programs. • Responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Action Work Outs (LAWO).

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering from an accredited university or college • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in an Engineering role • Desired Qualifications • Master’s degree or PhD in an engineering or technical discipline • SRO license qualifications • Knowledge of working within a regulated environment (nuclear). • Knowledge of quality standards and systems (e.g., NQA-1 and ISO 9000). • Strong organization skills and problem-solving abilities • Prior experience in system delivery of complex analyses • Strong customer mindset • Ability to work to tight deadlines and cope under pressure • Six Sigma training is preferred • Strong oral and written communication skills • Strong interpersonal skills
