• Inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and testing the Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus used by firefighting personnel • Conduct periodic service calls at Fire Departments, conducting preventative maintenance services on 3M/Scott Safety SCBA • Perform routine inspections and functional checks of equipment to verify their readiness and compliance with safety regulations and standards • Conduct maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on SCBA-related equipment • Conduct tests on Scott/3M SCBA units to verify compliance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards • Maintain detailed records of all inspection, maintenance, and repair activities • Calibrate and adjust SCBA equipment to ensure accurate readings and safe operation • Train end-users and other personnel on proper use, care, and maintenance of SCBA equipment • Manage spare parts and replacement components inventory, ensuring adequate stock for repairs and maintenance • Stay current with safety regulations and ensure all equipment meets Scott/3M standards • Interact with customers and end-users, addressing concerns and assisting with equipment-related issues
• High school diploma or equivalent • Prior experience in servicing and maintaining SCBA equipment is highly desirable but not required. • Additional technical training or certification related to SCBA equipment maintenance and repair is preferred but not required. • Knowledge of safety regulations, NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards, and manufacturer-specific guidelines for SCBA equipment, preferably Scott/3M. • Sound computer skills are essential. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under deadlines • Attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality. • Good communication skills for interacting with customers and colleagues. • Mechanically inclined • Previous experience servicing and maintaining HVAC equipment/systems, small engine repair, firefighting equipment, hydraulics, or cabling experience • Previous experience as a mechanic or electrician • Experience in servicing and maintaining the following is preferred: HVAC equipment/systems, Small engine repair, Firefighting equipment, Hydraulics, Cabling, Vehicles, Electrical
