National Center for Youth Law is a nonprofit legal advocacy organization that centers children—particularly those marginalized by systems—in impact litigation, policy advocacy, research, and collaboration to transform public systems affecting education, foster care, health, immigration, and youth justice. NCYL pursues legal challenges, policy reforms, partnerships, and community engagement to defend rights, improve services, and advance equitable outcomes for youth and families nationwide.

📋 Description

• Assist with an important content migration project • Transfer legal "know your rights" material from PDF format into an online platform • Ensure accuracy and consistency throughout • Research novel issues related to youth law and policy • Support communications efforts by NCYL’s Health & Wellbeing Team • Create understandable, accessible materials to disseminate to the public about legal "know your rights" material • Provide administrative support to the Health & Wellbeing Team

🎯 Requirements

• As of fall 2026, undergraduate student at a US college or university • Preference for junior or senior • Ability to commit 15 hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks between September and November 2026 • Knowledge of, understanding of, and commitment to NCYL’s mission • Experience and/or interest in youth health and wellbeing, including reproductive rights • Patience with methodical, repetitive work and a high standard of care and accuracy • Some familiarity with WordPress, square space or Wix • Strong proofreading and copyediting skills • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion • Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete multiple projects • Excellent communication skills
