• Provide Systems engineering support for in-service and new vessel design, primarily the T-AO 187 Class • Provide support to shipboard engineering systems • Work with stakeholders • Use, maintain, and improve document authoring and drafting practices and tools to develop reports, manuals, and drawings with high efficiency and accuracy • Assist team to carryout Outyear Engineering Requirements for various class of ships including T-A0 187 Class-Double Hull • Design and develop fluid systems using design software such as PipeFLO and spreadsheet calculations • Design and develop interfaces between ship systems and new equipment • Author and develop design reports to accompany in-service modifications to ship systems • Develop advanced proficiency in 2D drafting practices to improve in-service modification
• BSME in Marine Engineering • Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience working with ship machinery and systems ideally on the T-AO 187 Class vessels • Ability to write concise reports and specifications in English with minimal oversight in MS Word making use of features such as styles, fields, and references • Proven track record in ship design, modification, or maintenance projects • Proficiency in MS Excel and Powerpoint • Ability to work alone on individual projects with minimal supervision and with other Engineering Disciplines on a team • Ability to interface with team members, technical leads, and Project Managers • Ability to review and apply US Navy and/or US commercial ship design requirements, including DOD acquisition, system safety, and testing processes • Good verbal (English) communication skills • Willingness to travel ≤10% of the time • Must be a US Citizen • Ability to Obtain a Clearance
