📋 Description

• Lead mechanical design for Space and Defense hardware projects, from concept through to production. • Collaborate closely with electrical designers and software engineers to create integrated, holistic designs. • Work with PCB layout experts to optimize board-level designs and ensure effective connector/interconnect system choices. • Report on program status weekly to management and during release manager meetings, ensuring transparency and alignment. • Interface with supply chain representatives to coordinate material sourcing, assembly, and testing for prototypes. • Compile evidence of hardware design maturity for key project milestones (P7 and P8), ensuring quality standards are met. • Champion the transition of designs from prototype to production, ensuring all necessary documentation and compliance are in place. • Mentor junior mechanical engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.

🎯 Requirements

• US Citizen or Permanent Resident is required • Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Master's degree preferred. • At least 3 years' experience in hardware mechanical design taking products to production. • Ability to use a wide variety of mechanical design tools to facilitate physical design, thermal performance, environmental testing in conformance with specifications. • Customer and partner/vendor relationship management experience. • Proficient communication (verbal, written) skills****
