Pain Specialists of America is a multi-site medical practice specializing in interventional pain management, operating clinics in Central Texas. The practice offers comprehensive, minimally invasive treatments and personalized, multidisciplinary pain-management plans for chronic and acute conditions — including back and spine, neck, head/facial, shoulder, wrist, abdominal/pelvic, nerve and post-surgical pain, limb pain, and vertebral compression fractures. PSA emphasizes patient access (new patient appointments, self-scheduling, patient portal, AI phone assistant), physician referrals and partnerships, patient education and therapy partnerships, and aims to be a single-source pain management provider focused on improving patients’ quality of life.

📋 Description

• Code and Bill pain management procedures • Serve as the primary coding resource for the practice • Billing job duties as assigned, to possibly include working payer denials, AR reports, and taking patient calls • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills • Flexibility and ability to manage a variety of assignments • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Coding certification through AAPC • Minimum of 3 years coding and billing experience • Excellent communicator • Medical office and EHR experience preferred, but not required • Previous pain management or ASC experience preferred • Ability to meet attendance standards • High School diploma • Minimum of four years’ work experience in a medical business office setting • Minimum of one-year work experience in medical billing • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook • Must be organized and detail-oriented • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills • Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines • Must possess good problem-solving skills • Knowledge of medical billing terminology and concepts related to billing • Ability to read, write and interpret documents, follow and complete instructions, and communicate effectively • Must have basic knowledge and understanding of general office procedures and equipment • Must have excellent customer service skills • Must be able to work effectively with colleagues by practicing punctuality, respecting deadlines, collaboratively solve problems and practice open and honest communication • Must display empathy and positive regard for others in written, verbal and non-verbal communications • Ability to maintain proficiency as needed and approved by attending trainings • Ability to work independently and self-manage • Must have the ability to utilize basic math skills in order to calculate percentages for payments • Compliance with all required standards of patient confidentiality and safety
