📋 Description

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections at Ports of Entry on deployed equipment, including but not limited to License Plate Reader (LPR) equipment, RFID, network/power, signage, and communication devices. • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to identify root causes and implement timely repairs to minimize downtime. • Install new equipment and systems according to specifications and SOPs provided by SAIC deployment management. • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to coordinate equipment upgrades, replacements, and enhancements. • Adhere to all CBP and SAIC IT Security, physical security, and operations security policies. • Document accurate records of equipment maintenance activities, including maintenance schedules, repair histories, and inventory levels. • Adhere to safety protocols such as OSHA and local regulations while performing maintenance and repair tasks at Ports of Entry. • Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and provide on-call support as needed during business hours Monday-Friday. • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with Customs and Border Protection personnel, Border Patrol, vendors, and the traveling public.

🎯 Requirements

• Must have a Bachelors and 2 years of experience. We will accept an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree. • 6 years of experience as a Field Service Technician or Equipment Installation Technician highly preferred. • Must be currently residing in the Tucson area. • Ability to drive daily to job sites up to 150 miles away. • Strong technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex electronic and mechanical systems. • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel with ability to write reports. • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand and power tools, and computer software for equipment maintenance and repair. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively to non-technical stakeholders. • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within a team environment. • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. • Understands basic electrical wiring principles (low voltage only). • Technically proficient with signal cabling such as CAT 6 to include testing and termination. • May travel to other locations on the U.S. border to assist with installations and ticket resolutions for up to two weeks. • Understanding of multimode fiber installation and troubleshooting is strongly desired. • Active DHS Public Trust highly desired. • US Citizenship is required. • Must be able to obtain DHS Public Trust prior to starting with our team. • CBP Background Investigation requires drug screen prior to starting.
