• Oversee editorial workflows for multiple publications, from manuscript to final proof • Collaborate with authors, editors, designers, production staff, and marketing to manage project timelines and deliverables • Supervise inhouse content editors, copyeditors, and proofreaders • Ensure consistency in voice, tone, and style across all publications • Implement and maintain editorial guidelines and processes • Stay current with issues, trends and best practices in academic publishing
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced credentials in Publishing or disciplines related to SIL domains preferred • 3+ years experience managing editorial teams, or cross-functional content projects • 5+ years experience working in SIL domain or project roles (or equivalent) preferred • 5+ years of editorial experience in non-profit academic publishing, or extensive experience as a regularly published author of academic articles or books • Proven experience with manuscript development, content editing, copyediting, and proofreading across a range of formats (books, digital content)
