📋 Description

• Treat students experiencing communication problems that affect classroom activities, social interaction, literacy and learning. • Work under the supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist. • Focus on students’ individual needs as defined by each student’s Individualized Education Program. • Obtain licensure in multiple states and serve students across multiple schools. • Ensure all speech and language services are provided as determined by the IEP team. • Communicate with parents and teachers to develop a schedule that encourages regular attendance and participation by the student. • Develop progress reports and other state-specific required special education documentation. • Use provided resources to ensure accommodations and modifications for students with disabilities are made available. • Maintain compliance with state, school, and company regulations. • Instruct students/families/teachers in the use of appropriate communication strategies and technologies. • Maintain files and/or records using specified systems, e.g., progress reports, activity logs, treatment plans, reports, etc. • Collect data and work samples to monitor student progress toward Individual Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives. • Document all contact with parents and interventions with students.

🎯 Requirements

• Active speech-language pathology assistant license issued by the state department of education and/or state board • Associates Degree in Speech Communication or related field; and two (2) years of speech/language work experience within a public-school setting or equivalent combination of education and experience • Ability to work independently, with availability during typical school hours of at least 20 hours per week is required. • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9 - 5 as defined by the school and time zone • Knowledge regarding Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) due process requirements • Ability to conduct and interpret comprehensive speech-language evaluations • Ability to provide speech-language therapy services • Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members to plan and deliver speech-language services to children • Receptive to receiving coaching on a regular basis with administrators • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes • Ability to create and deliver staff development • Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills • Strong organizational and time management skills • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • MS365 Proficient • Ability to clear required background check
