Descrição

• Define technical standards and practices for engineering-wide reliable, high-quality software delivery • Craft features that improve navigation of government services and user experience • Solve ambiguous, high-leverage technical problems across domains • Own architecture and data-modeling decisions for systems spanning multiple services or teams • Develop durable, reusable shared services, libraries, and AI-enabled components • Produce documentation, technical decision records, and learning materials • Set and document technical direction and shared engineering standards • Mentor Staff and Senior Software Engineers • Partner with Engineering Managers, Directors, and cross-functional peers on technical strategy • Explore emerging technologies, infrastructure, frameworks, and AI-enabled capabilities • Represent Engineering in cross-discipline planning and decision-making • Report to the Engineering Director • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requisitos

• 10+ years of software engineering experience • Deep expertise in system architecture, data modeling, web technologies, and API design • Track record of defining technical standards or patterns adopted across multiple teams • Experience solving ambiguous, previously undefined technical problems and building adoptable solutions • Expertise across multiple languages, frameworks, and technology stacks, with ability to ramp into unfamiliar ones • Ability to use AI coding tools judiciously, validate and refine generated code, and establish responsible usage norms • Experience with Agile software development models such as Scrum, XP, TDD, or BDD • Technical leadership across team boundaries at a multi-team scale • Experience with cloud infrastructure and IaC tooling • Experience collaborating across disciplines and mentoring engineers • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English • Commitment to Code for America's mission • Willingness to travel no more than 10% of the time • Full-time residence within the United States
