A Compass Charter School é uma escola pública de pré-escola até o 5º ano, intencionalmente diversa e inclusiva, localizada em Fort Greene, Brooklyn, que oferece um currículo integrado e baseado em investigação, com ênfase em justiça social, sustentabilidade, artes, aprendizado ao ar livre e forte engajamento família-comunidade. Descrição

• Attend and actively participate in all regularly scheduled board meetings • Uphold Compass's mission, values, and commitment to progressive, sustainability-focused education • Maintain confidentiality of executive session discussions • Disclose conflicts of interest promptly and recuse when appropriate • Complete required board training • Act in the best interest of Compass students and the school community • Voting members hold full governance authority and fiduciary responsibility • Participate in nomination, application, vetting, board vote, and NYSED approval processes • Meet with at least two current board members and the School Leader • Support submission of required candidate materials to NYSED

• Dedicated and mission-aligned • Commitment to Compass's mission, values, and progressive, sustainability-focused education • Ability to attend and actively participate in regularly scheduled board meetings • Ability to maintain confidentiality of executive session discussions • Ability to disclose conflicts of interest and recuse when appropriate • Completion of required board training • Voting members require NYSED approval before appointment • Voting candidates must provide a resume and documentation of highest education level to NYSED • Voting candidates must complete a Background Information Form, Statement of Assurance, and Disclosure of Financial Interest form • Voting candidates must undergo criminal history record check via fingerprinting • Voting candidates must have credentials verified
