📋 Description

• Facilitate communication with client project stakeholders regarding project status and technical recommendations • Lead the design and development of Python backend services and APIs using the Pyramid framework on AWS • Architect and manage PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and performance optimizations for clinical-grade data • Build and maintain AWS infrastructure including Kubernetes (EKS), Lambda, API Gateway, and cloud-to-cloud integration patterns • Define backend coding standards, API design patterns, security best practices, and testing strategies • Mentor and guide backend engineers and drive engineering excellence across the team • Participate in agile development activities including stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and estimation • Independently drive project delivery from conceptualization through deployment within defined architecture

🎯 Requirements

• Experience/expertise designing and implementing scalable backend services and APIs using Python • Experience architecting PostgreSQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, performance tuning, stored procedures, and data integrity • Experience with AWS services: Kubernetes (EKS), Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3, IAM, and cloud-to-cloud integrations • Experience mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and enforcing engineering standards • Experience delivering production systems with high reliability, observability, and security • Must-have skills: Python, JavaScript, SQL, REST API, OAuth 2, Docker, PostgreSQL, AWS Kubernetes (EKS), Lambda, Jira, Bitbucket/GitHub, Slack/Teams • 6+ years of backend engineering experience, including 2+ years in a lead or tech lead role • Strong understanding of SOLID principles, OOP, and clean architecture patterns • Familiarity with OWASP security practices • English proficiency • Desired experience with clinical or healthcare data systems, including HL7, FHIR, GxP, and 21 CFR Part 11 • Knowledge of microservices and serverless architectural patterns • Experience with Docker, container orchestration, and modern CI/CD tooling • Proficiency with unit testing, integration testing, and TDD practices • Pyramid, VSCode, TypeScript, Snowflake, and SQLAlchemy listed as good-to-have skills
