📋 Description

• Define and maintain enterprise data architecture strategy for data acquisition, archive recovery, and database implementation • Design scalable and secure data models, data flows, and integration patterns across AWS and the Databricks Lakehouse ecosystem • Align data architecture with business objectives and IT strategy • Establish data governance frameworks and best practices • Ensure data quality, consistency, regulatory compliance, and proper metadata documentation • Communicate architecture strategies, decisions, and best practices to stakeholders • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data teams • Supervise and review contractors and third-party resources • Advocate for data-driven decision-making across the organization • Evaluate and recommend data technologies, tools, and platforms • Leverage generative AI tools to accelerate code generation, data modeling, and documentation • Lead data architecture efforts in large-scale projects and digital transformations • Personally design and build data models and pipelines to set the team's technical standard • Ensure data solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and to quality standards • Proactively communicate updates on projects, issues, and major deliverables to management and stakeholders

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of data engineering or data architecture experience • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field • Experience with data profiling, sourcing, and cleansing routines, including standardization, transformation, rationalization, linking, and matching • Proven experience designing and implementing data models and warehouses using dimensional/star schema, Data Vault, or Kimball methodologies in a lakehouse environment • In-depth understanding of database structure principles and experience with different database and data warehouse technologies • Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques • Proficiency in SQL and Python • Hands-on experience with Databricks Workflows, AWS Glue, and/or Apache Airflow • Experience building data models and dashboards using Databricks SQL and/or Power BI • Deep hands-on experience with Databricks Lakehouse Platform, including Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Databricks SQL • Extensive knowledge of AWS services including S3, EMR, EKS, Glue, Redshift, and Lambda • Ability to work effectively with a remote team across multiple time zones and in an Agile environment • Ability to mentor and develop data engineers at all levels • Proactive use of generative AI tools for data modeling, coding, and documentation • Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and communication skills • Ability to translate business requirements into data models • Genuine passion for technology and solving data problems • Comfortable learning innovative technologies and systems
