• Lead and guide cycling groups on multi-day tours throughout the United States • Ensure participants are safe, comfortable, informed, and enjoying the trip • Operate each day’s itinerary and adjust for weather, road conditions, or other factors • Explain cycling techniques, safety procedures, and tour expectations • Serve as the main point of contact for participants and answer questions • Co-lead tours with other guides • Conduct pre-tour safety briefings and ensure participants have required gear • Manage group safety, road-safety compliance, emergencies, and accidents • Drive vans with attached trailers to transport bikes, gear, and participants • Load, unload, secure, fuel, inspect, and maintain vehicles and trailers • Assist with troubleshooting minor vehicle issues • Perform minor bicycle repairs and adjustments, including flat tires, brakes, and gears • Maintain bicycle cleanliness and upkeep • Foster a friendly, professional atmosphere and resolve participant concerns • Interpret local culture, history, landmarks, and natural surroundings along tour routes
• Experience as a guide, cycling guide, or similar role preferred • Strong knowledge of cycling, bicycle maintenance, and outdoor safety • Experience in customer service, especially in outdoor, tourism, or hospitality settings • Valid driver’s license and experience driving vans and towing trailers, preferably with a clean driving record • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills • Ability to navigate and lead groups through unfamiliar terrain using maps, Ride With GPS, or other navigation tools • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure • First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain it • Competence driving larger vehicles, including vans and trailers • Understanding of how to load and secure gear safely • Ability to cycle for 3–8 hours per day across varied terrain • Comfortable leading groups on challenging cycling routes and in diverse weather conditions • Physically fit and capable of managing long rides and assisting with bike repairs • Ability to drive and operate a van and trailer safely for extended periods • Personable, passionate about cycling and the outdoors, friendly, approachable, and enthusiastic about sharing local knowledge • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
