📋 Description

• Support project management for digital storytelling projects and initiatives • Develop project work plans, budgets, spending plans, schedules, milestone charts, goals, and objectives • Develop and maintain budget templates; monitor budgets, projections, burn rates, spending, financial commitments, and transactions • Communicate with contractors, review proposals, evaluate pricing, and calculate travel costs using foreign per diem rates • Provide budget planning, financial data entry, and fiscal management for project requests • Coordinate with project managers and CFCH staff on briefing materials, concept notes, status reports, briefing books, and project files • Participate in team meetings, record discussion points and decisions, and distribute them to team members and key staff • Conduct desk research and maintain information on potential digital storytelling opportunities • Coordinate meetings and prepare travel authorizations and vouchers for local, national, and international travel • Travel nationally and internationally as necessary to support assigned projects • Liaise with Smithsonian offices and project partners on grants, contracting, office management, and finance • Support program evaluation plans, impact evaluation tools, evaluation data management, data analysis, interpretation, and reporting • Conduct research using library and online resources • Provide technical support and lead trainings related to assigned projects in the United States and foreign countries • Support capacity building for communications and digital storytelling among cultural heritage organizations • Prepare public-facing digital media materials, communication plans, and social media content • Support procurement by obtaining bids, verifying funds, initiating contracts and purchase orders, managing vendor records, and tracking payments in PeopleSoft

🎯 Requirements

• Knowledge of standard communications and digital storytelling practices and procedures • Knowledge of project management principles and techniques • Knowledge of administrative procedures in an automated office environment • Knowledge of basic budget and grant administration procedures • Knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative evaluation design • Ability to communicate orally and in writing to cultural practitioners, academic institutions, and governmental and non-governmental organizations • Ability to conduct research and produce written reports • Education completed outside the United States must be deemed equivalent to higher education programs of U.S. institutions • Pass pre-employment background check and subsequent background investigation • Complete a probationary period • Maintain a bank account for direct deposit/electronic transfer • Eligible to work in the United States • Meet all qualification and eligibility requirements within 30 days of the closing date
