📋 Description

• Serve as a member of a product/infrastructure team • Practice and champion Scrum methodology in a cloud environment with a product mindset • Participate in iteration planning meetings and establish common understanding of backlog stories and chores • Participate in daily site, cross-site, and product team standups • Participate in retrospectives and derive actionable improvements for the team and product • Execute strategy while considering customer needs and wants • Collaborate within the team to design systems and applications • Practice daily paired programming and test-driven development • Establish continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines and practices • Support software products in user environments • Work with geographically dispersed teams across multiple time zones

🎯 Requirements

• Target Start Date: May/June 2027 • Rising Sophomore, Junior or Senior • Working towards a Bachelor's in Engineering, Computer Science or similar field, including a solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals • Strong understanding of computer science concepts and object-oriented design principles • Knowledge of developing software in different programming languages, and demonstrated ability to quickly learn new languages • Knowledge and experience with approaches and tools for automated testing and monitoring • Preferred: Experience with Java, Kotlin, Go or Scala and Python • Preferred: Experience with the Spring framework with Java or Kotlin • Preferred: Backend development, databases, messaging, big data development, implementation and optimization • Preferred: Web and API security knowledge, including authentication, authorization, OAuth, OWASP, OpenID, and SAML • Preferred: Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, Jasmine, Protractor, and Cucumber • Preferred: Experience with packaging/build tools such as Gradle, Maven, NPM, Artifactory, Jenkins, and Concourse • Preferred: Experience with AWS components such as Lambda, Athena, S3, EMR, Step Functions, Route 53, and EC2 • Preferred: Exposure to AWS and/or GCP cloud infrastructure • Preferred: Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation • Preferred: Scripting and automation experience in Python or Bash, with comfort working in Linux/Unix environments • Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position • Dedicated, private workspace free from distractions when working from home • Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
