• Lead portfolio analysis, performance tracking, and benchmarking across the R&D portfolio • Own and evolve Amgen’s Probability of Technical and Regulatory Success (PTRS) process • Facilitate enterprise PTRS assessments with Product Teams and cross-functional experts • Develop PTRS methodology, standards, benchmarks, guardrails, governance cadence, and documentation • Oversee PTRS and risk-assessment tools, data products, evidence workflows, dashboards, and decision-support capabilities • Partner with Product Teams to assess risk across product profiles, indications, populations, biomarker strategies, and clinical development options • Facilitate evidence-based discussions and clarify assumptions, risks, trade-offs, and decision criteria • Support portfolio reviews, prioritization, and investment decisions • Lead portfolio performance tracking and industry benchmark participation across development KPIs • Deliver decision-ready insights for Product Teams, Governance, and senior leadership • Maintain consistency across PTRS, valuation, planning, and governance assumptions • Use historical outcomes, internal performance trends, and external benchmarks to calibrate assessments and improve decision quality • Collaborate with Technology, Research, Development, Product Teams, and other cross-functional partners
• Doctorate degree and 2 years of experience in R&D portfolio management, portfolio analytics, life sciences or management consulting, or leading decision analysis initiatives; OR • Master’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience; OR • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience; OR • Associate’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience; OR • High school diploma/GED and 12 years of relevant experience • Advanced degree in business, life sciences, medicine, statistics, decision sciences, or a related field preferred • 5+ years of experience in relevant R&D portfolio management, portfolio analytics, life sciences, management consulting, or decision analysis initiatives preferred • Working knowledge of decision analysis methodologies and probabilistic modeling techniques, such as decision trees, Monte Carlo simulation, and risk modeling • Experience facilitating PTRS, probability of success, or comparable development risk assessments with cross-functional subject matter experts • Deep understanding of the end-to-end drug development process and scientific, clinical, regulatory, CMC, operational, and competitive risk factors • Comfort using AI-enabled tools and analytical capabilities for evidence synthesis, risk assessment, insight development, and decision support • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills • Executive presence and exceptional communication skills • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and highly matrixed environment
