📋 Description

• Write, test, review, and ship code across the stack, primarily using React and TypeScript on the front end with Node.js and AWS underneath • Own production code, including monitoring, debugging, and incident response • Improve codebase clarity, maintainability, and pragmatic tradeoffs through refactoring and deleting unnecessary code • Help engineers improve through code review, pairing, and mentorship • Use AI tools thoughtfully and pragmatically while applying independent judgment • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and education experts to turn complex requirements into usable software • Push back on technically unsound requirements and incorporate classroom expertise into designs

🎯 Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent degree or training • 5+ years of professional full-stack software development experience • Strong understanding of good software design principles and modern engineering practices • Experience working in complex systems and large codebases • Hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks, including React • Solid understanding of modern backend web technologies, including Node.js • Ability to reason about scalable, maintainable service design • Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly, verbally and in writing • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment through self-driven learning • Genuine passion for education products and commitment to building tools that are more equitable and accessible for all learners • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States • Background check required if selected for employment
