📋 Description

• Collaborate with customers, product management, and hardware engineers to design and build network systems features • Write software controlling temperature sensors, fan controllers, power controllers, storage devices, FPGAs, NICs, and PCIe switches • Design abstractions for packaging and integrating software into hardware drivers • Design hardware-accelerated solutions using hardware and FPGAs to improve system performance • Participate throughout the product lifecycle, from influencing hardware designs through bringing up new hardware and taking it to market • Add new features, debug problems, and tune code for scalability and performance • Own projects from definition through deployment and customer interactions • Architect, design, and manage feature development • Develop and maintain features using C, C++, and Python • Review and contribute to functional and design specifications • Build automated tests and test infrastructure • Work with hardware and manufacturing teams to bring new hardware to market • Design software control interfaces for hardware components • Provide technical leadership across features, projects, and tools • Analyze, mitigate, and fix customer network problems with Customer Support Engineers and customers • Analyze system-test problems and provide fixes • Mentor new and junior engineers

🎯 Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering plus 8 years of experience; or MS plus 6 years; or Ph.D. plus 3 years; or equivalent work experience • Expert knowledge of C or C++ and Python • Knowledge of UNIX or Linux • Hands-on experience designing and developing hardware device drivers and/or system management utilities • Applied understanding of software engineering principles • Strong problem-solving and software troubleshooting skills • Ability to design solutions and implement features independently • Ability to work in small teams • Understanding of IP networking and/or distributed systems is a plus • Experience working with low-level hardware components is a plus
