📋 Description

• Provide insight and collaboration regarding underwriting strategies, wording, product development, expert guidance, and technical training • Lead and mentor underwriting teammates, including sign-off where applicable • Review and respond to internal Underwriting referrals for new and renewal business • Identify internal and external trends and provide recommendations aligned with strategic and operational plans • Provide high-level commentary and market intelligence to the executive team and VP of Underwriting • Coordinate on product development opportunities, including guidelines and templates • Develop and implement technical underwriting guidelines and best-practice procedures • Assist with and handle Claims situations/files, relying on wordings, underwriting intentions, and technical expertise • Maintain and strengthen relationships with retail producing brokers and encourage additional submission inflow • Attend conventions and functions from time to time • Develop and deliver technical training and development programs for new business and retention teams and broker partners • Foster continuous learning and technical excellence through training seminars and one-on-one support • Represent SRIM at meetings and events, including with market partners • Assist with projects assigned by the CUO/VP of Underwriting • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Level 1 - General Insurance license or the ability to obtain within a reasonable time frame • CAIB, CIP, CRM, FCIP or working towards finalizing a designation is preferred • 10+ Years Commercial Insurance Experience • Willingness to further develop Underwriting Analysis & Products skillset • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to influence and gain respect, credibility, and confidence from others • Ability to make excellent and well justified decisions in complex and high-pressure situations, often with less than complete information • Ability to develop and implement comprehensive plans and solutions that bridge complex issues • Strong business acumen with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to challenge the status quo respectfully and influence change positively • Strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills • High degree of accuracy when handling audits and reviews • Strong independent work ethic and ability to work harmoniously in a team environment
