Astra targets developer-led teams and platforms, enabling fast time-to-market, intelligent routing, and configurable payment workflows for B2B customers via one integration.

📋 Description

• Drive the evolution of Astra’s platform layer, including APIs, developer experience, control plane, and foundational infrastructure products • Define the API contract philosophy, including versioning, backwards compatibility, deprecation policies, and schema design • Write detailed, edge-case-aware platform specifications for engineering • Shape the platform roadmap across foundational investments, customer-facing features, and reliability work • Conduct technical discovery with sophisticated customers to identify platform gaps and extensibility needs • Partner with engineering on API design, developer ergonomics, and platform quality • Work with solutions and implementation teams to translate customer problems and workarounds into platform requirements • Drive the developer experience roadmap with documentation, solutions engineering, and DevRel • Represent platform strategy in customer conversations, partnership discussions, and technical due diligence • Influence long-term platform strategy toward programmable payments infrastructure and agentic payment use cases

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of product management experience • At least 3 years building developer-facing platform or API products at a technical infrastructure company • Deep expertise in API design, including REST, webhooks, and event-driven architecture • Experience owning a platform roadmap across authentication, configuration, extensibility, and observability layers • Strong understanding of developer-experience-driven infrastructure-company lock-in • Ability to reason about systems-level tradeoffs, including latency vs. consistency and configurability vs. complexity • Principal-level individual contributor track record, setting direction and influencing without authority • Exceptional written communication and ability to produce platform specifications as product documents and technical contracts • Intellectual curiosity about how money moves • Ability and willingness to travel up to approximately 15% annually • Preferred: platform experience at a BaaS, payments infrastructure, or developer tools company • Preferred: familiarity with control plane/data plane architecture • Preferred: workflow or rules-engine product design background • Preferred: exposure to agentic AI use cases and payment infrastructure requirements
