📋 Description

• Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, separation agreements, employee handbooks, workplace policies, and other labor and employment-related documents • Provide legal guidance on wage and hour compliance, discrimination claims, pay transparency, workplace investigations, and employee relations • Collaborate with clients, HR teams, and business leaders on workforce management initiatives, employment disputes, and compliance projects • Manage employment-related legal issues for clients across manufacturing, automotive, retail, and tech industries • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to provide proactive counsel on evolving labor and employment laws • Provide expert legal advice and support to Detroit metro-area clients, ensuring compliance and mitigating employment-law risk

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in labor and employment law • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, and related workplace compliance requirements • Proven track record of advising clients on employment litigation avoidance, workplace investigations, policy development, and risk management strategies • Excellent communication, negotiation, technology, and problem-solving skills • Juris Doctor degree or equivalent • Licensed to practice law in Michigan or eligible for admission • Experience with employment litigation and multi-state compliance issues • SHRM, HRCI, or other relevant employment law or HR-related certifications are a plus
