📋 Description

• Drive the growth, execution, and client success of Ballotpedia’s research initiatives • Generate and sustain revenue through proactive prospecting, business development, and client relationship management • Identify and cultivate new research opportunities • Advance prospects through the sales pipeline • Scope projects in collaboration with clients • Convert opportunities into high-quality, paid engagements • Lead project execution from kickoff to delivery • Manage timelines and coordinate cross-functional contributors • Hire, onboard, and manage research-project contractors • Ensure deliverables satisfy contract or proposal details and client needs • Support internal research initiatives for Ballotpedia’s content and communications teams • Plan, supervise, and execute research projects • Develop project plans, workflow documentation, and tracking/auditing systems • Develop targeted expertise on unfamiliar topics and communicate it internally and externally • Partner with Operations, External Relations, Content, and Tech teams on project estimates • Provide contractors with direction and constructive feedback • Communicate project progress via email, Slack, Asana, and other platforms • Research prospective clients, including funding sources, priorities, and decision-makers • Develop tailored client outreach strategies and talking points • Track outreach, engagement, and follow-ups in Salesforce • Collaborate internally to design projects aligned with client proposals and organizational goals

🎯 Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in research and project management • Policy research and analysis experience across varied topics • Experience in sales, prospecting, or business development preferred • Experience identifying leads and advancing opportunities through a pipeline preferred • Ability to build, manage, and sustain strong client relationships • Ability to scope projects, set expectations, and deliver high-quality results • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to translate complex research findings into client-ready deliverables • Ability to manage multiple projects, competing deadlines, and revenue-generating priorities simultaneously • Experience supervising contractors, staff, cross-functional content teams, and/or client relationships preferred • Familiarity with CRM systems, Asana or similar project management platforms, and Slack is a plus • Computer with Internet access • Current address included in résumé or cover letter • Authorization to work in the U.S. verified through E-Verify after hire
