📋 Description

• Own the Android technical roadmap, architecture, technology choices, and long-term platform direction • Define and enforce Android engineering standards for code quality, testing, and release readiness • Lead solution design for new features and major platform initiatives • Drive adoption of Jetpack Compose, MVVM/Clean Architecture, coroutines, and dependency injection • Partner with iOS and backend engineering on cross-platform behavior and API contracts • Own Android delivery across digital banking value streams, including planning, estimation, milestones, and risk management • Break complex initiatives into executable engineering tasks • Identify and resolve technical blockers before releases • Collaborate with QA on unit, integration, and UI automation testing • Participate in the production-support on-call rotation • Develop features, review code, debug issues, and optimize performance • Maintain a meaningful individual coding contribution using clean, testable, documented Kotlin • Directly manage three Android engineers through 1:1s, feedback, and technical development • Mentor engineers on Android practices, fintech domain knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration • Support hiring, onboarding, and Android capability growth • Collaborate with Product Management, Design, backend engineering, QA, and DevOps • Partner with DevOps on Android build pipelines, release automation, and CI/CD • Apply mobile security practices including certificate pinning, secure storage, biometric authentication, and session management • Ensure Android implementations meet applicable financial-services compliance requirements

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of Android development experience with deep Kotlin expertise • 2+ years in a tech lead or senior engineering leadership role managing direct reports • Strong proficiency in Jetpack Compose and modern Android UI development • Solid understanding of MVVM, Clean Architecture, and Repository pattern • Experience with coroutines, Flow, and reactive programming patterns • Proficiency with Hilt or Dagger • Experience with JUnit, Espresso, and MockK • Familiarity with RESTful API integration and mobile networking patterns • Experience with Android CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or Bitrise • Proficiency with Git, pull request reviews, and branching strategies • Demonstrated success leading Android development in fintech, banking, or a similarly regulated product environment • Proven ability to manage and develop engineers through 1:1s, code reviews, and performance feedback • Experience in a value-stream or squad-based engineering model • Track record of delivering high-quality Android products on time in fast-moving startup environments • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Experience with digital banking platforms, credit union or community bank technology, mobile security in regulated financial services, AI-assisted development tools, or XML-to-Jetpack-Compose migration are nice to have
