📋 Description

• Perform mechanical field service work in a computer-based environment • Assist and troubleshoot with engineers • Test, install, start-up and demonstrate BW Converting envelope converting equipment • Train customers on the operation and mechanical maintenance of the equipment • Work from assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, machine manuals, technical procedures and specifications to assist with or install new envelope converting machines • Set up and operate envelope converting equipment to produce customer’s product • Provide technical and practical answers to customer’s questions or problems • Perform routine and/or emergency breakdown mechanical service on company envelope converting equipment • Act as liaison between customer and company • Prepare and submit reports as required • Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to less experienced personnel

🎯 Requirements

• An Associate degree in Mechanical Technology, Electro-Mechanical Technology or a related field is required • B.S. degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology is preferred • A strong mechanical skill set – including gear trains, cam and linkage systems, die/knife maintenance and sharpening, bearing and alignment work, and pneumatic systems – is required to complete a variety of work in this position • Knowledge of basic web handling and industrial experience, with focus in envelope converting – die-cutting/blanking, gumming/tacking, seam forming, flap folding, window patching, and count/stack/bundle systems – is a plus • Experience as an envelope machine adjuster, mechanic, or operator on die-cutting, folding, gumming, or seam-forming equipment is highly valued • Working knowledge of Giddings & Lewis, Rockwell, and Siemens PLC-controlled envelope lines is a plus, along with a background in machine process control and mechanical timing/registration on servo-driven equipment such as W+D (Winkler+Dünnebier)-style die-cutters, folder-gluers and seam formers • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time
