📋 Description

• Provide strategic direction for the firm’s internal tax function • Lead tax compliance, planning, reporting, research, and risk management • Monitor tax legislation and regulatory developments and advise firm leadership • Oversee sales and use tax, property tax, and other indirect tax compliance • Oversee preparation and filing of federal, state, local, and other required tax returns • Lead partnership tax matters, including allocations, distributions, capital accounts, basis calculations, and related reporting • Advise Finance and firm leadership on complex tax matters, regulatory changes, planning opportunities, and risks • Establish and maintain tax policies, procedures, controls, calendars, and documentation standards • Oversee multi-state tax compliance, including registrations, filings, estimated payments, and notices • Lead tax forecasting, quarterly provisions, estimated tax planning, and recurring tax reporting • Manage responses to tax authority inquiries, audits, notices, and information requests • Evaluate tax implications of business decisions, ownership changes, transactions, and operational changes • Develop, mentor, and direct tax team members and supporting Finance staff • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance feedback to tax team members

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required • Master’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred • CPA strongly preferred • Minimum of 10 years of progressive tax experience • Significant experience with partnership taxation, individual taxation, and multi-state compliance • Experience leading tax strategy, tax compliance, tax planning, and tax risk management within a complex organization or professional services environment • Ability to advise senior leaders on complex tax matters and translate technical tax concepts into practical business guidance • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations • Advanced technical tax knowledge • Strategic thinking, sound judgment, and strong risk management orientation • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism • Proficiency with tax preparation software, research tools, and Microsoft Office applications • Minimal travel, less than 10% per year
