📋 Description

• Conduct and adjudicate referrals of unusual activity made to the Compliance Team • Investigate activity for timely SAR submission within applicable jurisdictions or close referrals as not suspicious with articulated reasoning • Determine risk exposure to Bitfinex and mitigate risks through SAR filing, account-closure recommendations, and freezing of funds where applicable • Work with Compliance, Customer Support, Legal, and peer AML Investigators • Provide investigative assistance to Customer Help Desk and Legal Team requests • Communicate with customers, agents, and internal attorneys as applicable • Develop industry relationships and share investigative techniques and best practices • Continuously develop skills in blockchain technology, virtual currencies, suspicious activities, criminal modus operandi, and AML/CTF/Sanctions risk mitigation • Report directly to the Head of Investigation Team with a dotted line to the Chief Compliance Officer

🎯 Requirements

• University education (Preferred) • Experience in an investigative function • Experience using blockchain analytics tools such as Chainalysis, TRM, and Elliptic • Demonstrated AML experience including customer and enhanced due diligence (CDD/EDD), AML/CTF/Sanctions Investigations, and SAR/STR reporting • Basic knowledge of blockchain technology • CAMS/CBP designation (Preferred) • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Demonstrated critical thinking skills (decision-making) • Demonstrated attention to detail • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision • Flexibility regarding working arrangement and hours • Confidence making delegated decisions • Ability to work under a remote contractor arrangement and manage taxes, social contributions, and statutory obligations in the country of residence
