📋 Description

• Deliver business-critical outcomes through product contributions to Blackpoint's cybersecurity platform • Define and build world-class user experiences for Blackpoint customers and own those experiences end-to-end • Lead and drive projects across TypeScript, React, and Node.js services hosted on Kubernetes • Lead architectural decisions for platform and data systems across ingestion, modeling, storage, and orchestration • Implement patterns such as Medallion Architecture where relevant • Design and maintain pipelines for onboarding new data domains and integrating them into product-facing services • Strengthen observability across services and pipelines through metrics, lineage, SLAs/SLOs, and alerting • Optimize systems for performance, scale, and resiliency using design and architecture best practices • Mentor engineers and lead complex, cross-functional projects • Manage expectations and needs across cross-functional groups • Communicate technical solutions and progress updates to leadership • Align technical solutions with high-level business objectives • Identify, evaluate, and implement AI-powered tools and practices for development, testing, delivery, and observability • Champion responsible AI use to automate routine tasks and improve team productivity • Report to the VP of Product Engineering

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of industry experience in software or platform engineering • Demonstrated expertise delivering scalable, high-performance systems in fast-paced, enterprise-level environments • Proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern front-end architecture, design patterns, and best practices • Strong backend development skills with Node.js • Experience building and maintaining microservices architectures on Kubernetes • AWS experience required; Azure/GCP helpful • Experience with Kafka, Spark Structured Streaming, data streaming, event-driven processing, and distributed ETL/batch processing • Expertise designing and consuming REST, GraphQL, or gRPC APIs • Strong understanding of database design, performance tuning, and indexing across SQL and NoSQL databases • Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Iceberg, or Parquet • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or GitLab • Deep understanding of security best practices, API security, sensitive data handling, authentication, authorization, OAuth, and JWT • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-assisted development tools while maintaining code quality, security review, and architectural integrity • Strong desire to work in a fast-paced start-up environment with multiple releases a day • Experience working in an Agile development environment • Ability to lead sprint planning and align team efforts with business objectives • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities • Nice to have: experience with BI semantic layers, medallion architectures, or graph/search systems such as Trino/Presto • Nice to have: background in cybersecurity, SIEM, or event-driven systems • Nice to have: experience with internationalization and localization frameworks • Nice to have: experience evaluating and integrating LLM-based capabilities or AI features into production SaaS products • Nice to have: familiarity with Agile Scrum
