📋 Description

• Develop and implement the AI strategy and blueprint to make Boomi an AI-first enterprise • Lead AI adoption across internal business operations • Run quarterly planning with the VP of AI and business teams • Translate AI and agent roadmaps into agent, data, and platform investments • Drive AI solutions for front- and back-office processes, decision-making, and customer experiences • Set architecture and roadmaps for autonomous and multi-agent systems • Define agent guardrails, access controls, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, logging, and escalation paths • Establish agent evaluation and observability standards • Drive interoperability standards and own the agent operating model • Own model strategy across frontier and open-weight models • Govern an enterprise AI gateway for model access, routing, fallback, rate limiting, cost tracking, and policy enforcement • Decide between self-hosted open-weight models and hosted APIs • Define the reference architecture for the knowledge graph, semantic layer, vector retrieval, and trust layer • Own trust-layer classification, masking, lineage, and policy enforcement • Lead batch and real-time pipelines into AI-ready data • Set data modeling, canonical entity, feature store, and context store standards • Establish SLOs for retrieval quality, data freshness, and policy compliance • Balance storage, query, and compute performance and cost • Mentor and grow AI and data engineering professionals as a player-coach • Lead async, multi-geo collaboration across the US and India • Serve as Customer Zero for Boomi’s low-code generative AI orchestration platform • Share practical lessons with customers and partners • Track AI trends and collaborate with Product & Engineering and external communities

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years across data engineering, analytics, and AI systems • 3+ years managing senior IC engineers • Track record leading enterprise-scale AI initiatives with measurable outcomes • Hands-on production experience with Anthropic Claude, including Claude API, Claude Agent SDK, tool use, and prompt caching • Experience with at least one other frontier model family • Experience deploying, fine-tuning, or serving open-weight models in production • Experience comparing open-weight and hosted models on quality and total cost • Experience designing or operating an AI gateway or LLM proxy layer • Enterprise-scale experience architecting a production knowledge graph, semantic layer, or RAG retrieval system • Experience setting architecture for agentic or multi-agent AI systems, including guardrails, evaluation, and observability • Experience building a data trust or governance layer with classification, masking, lineage, and policy enforcement • Hands-on AWS experience: IAM, S3, Glue/EMR, Lambda, Bedrock or equivalent, OpenSearch, and KMS • Experience with Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Google Gemini, Llama, Mistral, Qwen, and DeepSeek, using vLLM, Ollama, or managed endpoints • Experience leading large transformations across strategic planning, program execution, technical delivery, communications, and change management • Proven experience building and mentoring AI and software engineering teams, including a distributed US-India team • Strong executive communication skills • BS or advanced degree in engineering, computer science, or another technical field • Bonus qualifications include sales or revenue agents, CRM-grounded AI applications, dbt Semantic Layer, Cube, AtScale, integration platforms, iPaaS, data fabric, open-source contributions, or public enterprise AI work • Knowledge of Python, TypeScript, SQL, Snowflake, Redshift, Kafka, Kinesis, Airflow, retrieval systems, AI frameworks, evaluation tools, LLMOps, agent frameworks, MCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, GitHub Actions, AWS, OAuth/OIDC, Vault, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana
