• Function as a biological wastewater treatment expert • Lead system design, installation, and startup • Provide system data analysis • Create O&M manuals • Troubleshoot and maintain biological wastewater systems at customer sites • Prepare equipment specifications, PFDs, mass balances, load lists, component specifications, controls overviews, equipment lists, layouts, controls narratives, and power consumption information • Support facility and controls engineers with PIDs, system layouts, and electrical one-lines • Create basis-of-design documents using information from applications and sales teams • Prepare preliminary and final process designs for wastewater screening, pumping stations, aeration systems, pretreatment, anaerobic digesters, MBR systems, chemical dosing, instrumentation, sludge treatment, and post-treatment • Perform process and hydraulic calculations, pressure-drop calculations, line sizing, and equipment, membrane, filter, pump, blower, and instrumentation selection • Prepare RFQ documents, procurement scopes, and datasheets • Support control philosophy, O&M manual, and commissioning book preparation • Collaborate with controls engineers on FAT and SAT logic development • Participate in project commissioning activities • Support product development and report progress to stakeholders • Support customer-site installations and troubleshooting • Interface with Sales, Applications Engineering, Project Execution, Procurement, and manufacturing teams • Travel to sites to support projects and field activities • Ensure reactors and equipment are correctly and economically sized from preliminary design through finalization • Prepare controls narratives for programming • Conduct wet testing during commissioning • Provide technical instruction for system inoculation and startup • Monitor assigned customer sites and troubleshoot biological wastewater treatment systems
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering • 10+ years of process design and integration experience • Preferably experience in the food and beverage or water and wastewater industry • Experience with aerobic and anaerobic systems and membrane treatment systems • Extensive experience designing, installing, starting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining EGSB, UASB, and/or other biological wastewater treatment systems • Experience analyzing wastewater treatment plants and conducting water audits for industries • Ability to develop productive, long-term relationships and communicate with clients, peers, and multidisciplinary teams • Understanding of basic fabrication techniques • Stellar written and verbal communication skills • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred • Willingness to travel 10–30% to customer sites as needed
