📋 Description

• Lead all operational cost accounting activities for the Network under the direction of the Director, Cost Accounting • Manage hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management, and staff productivity • Plan, organize, staff, direct, and control day-to-day department operations • Develop and implement policies and programs; manage budgetary responsibilities as assigned • Establish consistent cost accounting principles across network entities, including cost definitions, allocation methodologies, and direct cost assignments • Maintain cost center hierarchies and identifiers for categorizing and allocating costs • Direct cost analysts in maintaining cost allocation rules and processes for accurate patient-care cost information • Use SAS, Excel, Tableau, Alteryx, and related decision-support tools to produce reports, analyses, recommendations, and interactive visualizations • Support clinical financial analysis, institute-level reporting, payer reimbursement discussions, business cases, capital purchases, and real estate development prioritization • Develop and empower the team through mentoring and coaching • Build collaborative relationships with hospital leaders and clinical teams to develop cost and productivity metrics • Provide training and assistance to enterprise departments using cost data and reporting tools • Manage data credibility through standards compliance, processing procedures, audits, and reconciliations • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or relevant experience and/or education in lieu of bachelor's degree • 3 years in a leadership or management role • 3 years of database development • 3 years with cost accounting • Advanced Excel skills • Ability to adapt to changing computer technologies • Strong understanding of relational database structures, applications, and transactional systems • Ability to comply with HIPAA, data security guidelines, the Code of Business Conduct, and applicable laws and policies • Preferred: 3 years in healthcare systems • Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) • Preferred: Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA) • Preferred: Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) • Preferred: Understanding of SQL, macros, and Visual Basic • Preferred: Experience using healthcare-specific cost accounting systems such as EPSi and StrataJazz • Strong comprehension and communication skills • Ability to identify and define complex scenarios, gather facts, draw valid conclusions, and present findings and recommended actions
