• Design and validate silicon photonics chips for high-speed optical transmitters and receivers, balancing performance, cost, and reliability requirements. • Define photonic integrated circuit layouts (GDS) and collaborate with wafer fabrication partners for design verification, production, and delivery. • Lead and contribute to photonic circuit design reviews prior to production ramp. • Support module prototyping, define test plans, and transfer designs to high-volume manufacturing in partnership with operations and manufacturing teams. • Drive continuous improvements in performance, yield, and reliability throughout the product lifecycle. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver prototypes and production products based on Ciena’s silicon photonics platform. • Monitor, document, and communicate technical progress while proactively identifying risks that could impact specifications, schedules, or budgets.
• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Optics, Physics, Engineering Physics, or a related discipline. • 5+ years of industry experience in silicon photonic integrated circuit design. • Experience delivering silicon photonics products in production environments. • Advanced proficiency with photonic and electronic design tools, including Cadence Virtuoso and Ansys Lumerical. • Strong knowledge of passive and active photonic integrated circuit design principles. • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams. • Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.
