CIEE Council on International Educational Exchange is a nonprofit organization (founded in 1947) that organizes and facilitates international educational and cultural exchange programs. It provides study abroad programs for college and high school students, gap-year and internship placements, TEFL certification and teaching abroad, professional and research exchange, Work & Travel and BridgeUSA programs, and host-family and employer partnerships. CIEE also administers scholarships and safety/onsite support services to help participants travel and study internationally while advancing intercultural understanding and global citizenship.

📋 Description

• Design and deliver customized study abroad experiences for private and public high schools across the US • Work with sales managers to develop and implement regional strategies for growing Custom business • Generate revenue and increase the number of participants traveling • Cultivate relationships with school leadership, teachers, counselors, and nonprofits • Help schools integrate study abroad into their school culture and curricular and co-curricular programs • Act as a thought partner on global education and experiential learning • Develop program proposals with CIEE staff around the world • Finalize itineraries, syllabi, outcomes, and program agreements • Close school-trip sales in cooperation with sales managers • Support student recruitment, flight booking, and departure preparation • Coordinate with finance, sales operations, and enrollment teams on payments and pre-departure processes • Debrief programs with schools and chaperones after return • Analyze feedback survey data and follow up on actionable items • Support marketing, communication, networking, training, and strategic projects • Maintain accurate sales and program records in Salesforce and Microsoft Teams

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of teaching, project/account management, sales, or other relevant experience • Proven track record of building strong client relationships • Experience in international education or related K-12 industries • Experience working in or with secondary schools preferred • Experience living, studying, or working abroad or in an intercultural space • Experience designing or leading student travel programs preferred • Foundation in experiential education and place-based learning • Ability to translate academic goals into program design • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Understanding of budgets and price strategy • Proficient with Microsoft products, Salesforce, and other CRM tools • Willingness to travel for several domestic trips and one international trip per year • Ability to embrace CIEE’s Core Values and culture • Background check, reference check, and education and employment verification required as conditions of employment
