📋 Description

• Own the strategy and execution of Circle’s risk platform • Define the strategy and roadmap for a risk and fraud platform supporting real-time and asynchronous risk decisions across products, markets, crypto rails, and traditional financial rails • Build a user-friendly rules engine and intuitive tooling for risk operators • Build fraud prediction and detection systems from the ground up • Define risk vectors affecting Circle’s product roadmap and execute mitigating controls • Integrate third-party vendor models and create iterative feedback loops based on past fraudulent behavior • Define and implement observability strategies for risk platform integrity • Monitor performance, validate critical flows, and surface key risk indicators for prioritization and executive decision-making • Leverage AI/ML to automate risk decisioning and operational processes • Lead feature/context engineering, model development, and evaluation/monitoring frameworks • Maintain documentation of platform design, functionality, and dependencies for transparency and audit readiness • Translate regulatory requirements and business needs into product requirements, insights, and user stories for engineering • Represent the risk platform in senior leadership and regulatory forums • Partner with compliance, legal, engineering, data science, and business stakeholders

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of product management experience building risk, compliance, or trust & safety platforms in fintech, crypto, or financial services • Deep expertise in fraud typologies in consumer/SMB segments, signals and strategies to mitigate them, and hands-on experience crafting risk rules • Deep expertise in AML, sanctions screening, and onboarding compliance, including KYC/KYB • Track record translating regulatory requirements into scalable, policy-driven platform capabilities supporting real-time and asynchronous risk decisioning across crypto and fiat rails • Experience leading modular platform design, including refactoring monolithic services into scalable, service-oriented architectures • Experience collaborating with engineering, data science, and operations teams to ship complex infrastructure products • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment • Highly analytical and data-driven, with experience applying ML, risk signals, and scoring models • Strong technical fluency, including APIs and SDKs, event-driven architectures such as SNS/SQS or equivalent, SQL, and GitHub or equivalent • Preferred: background in RegTech, banking, or scaled fintech with exposure to complex regulatory environments • Preferred: expertise in blockchain technologies and crypto compliance, including chain types, on-chain travel rule requirements, blockchain monitoring, and evolving crypto regulations • Preferred: experience with rapid prototyping using AI tools
