📋 Description

• Refine the executive communications strategy for major speaking opportunities • Develop and implement corporate communications strategies aligned with organizational goals, values, and brand positioning • Drive content across speaking opportunities, op-eds, podcasts, and executive social media • Build and manage a small team consisting of one speechwriter and one external vendor • Develop and execute rapid-response communications for executives • Oversee executive speaking engagements, industry conferences, customer events, and internal leadership gatherings • Lead cross-functional executive storytelling initiatives connecting daily work to Cohere’s mission • Amplify customer success stories and executive thought leadership • Use data-driven insights and audience research to inform communications strategies • Support crisis and issues communications preparedness and response, coordinating with legal and functional teams when needed • Serve as the central executive communications hub integrating internal communications, external PR, marketing narratives, and executive messaging

🎯 Requirements

• 10–12 years of experience overseeing executive communications, ideally in-house and within a fast-paced, high-growth tech or AI environment • 3+ years of experience in people management • Comfortable providing collaborative feedback to executives and implementing feedback independently • Scrappy, creative, and able to think outside the box • Adept in pre-IPO communications • Experience in policy and regulatory communications • Exceptional writing ability, with talent for distilling complex, cross-functional topics into simple, compelling narratives • Experience serving as a communications business partner or trusted advisor to senior leaders, executives, and people/human resources teams • Highly organized and process-driven, with strong project management skills and a bias for action • High levels of creativity in format, channel, and storytelling • Comfortable navigating organizational dynamics and building relationships across all levels • Able to thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and prioritize ruthlessly • Must be authorized to work in the country of residence
