• Install, program, test, repair, and service a variety of non-routine security systems and equipment • Provide technical support and customer training • Read blueprints, schematics, manuals, wiring diagrams, and other specifications to determine installation procedures • Repair equipment using electronics knowledge, standard test instruments, and hand tools • Execute work according to regulations, best practices, and company health and safety policies • Operate systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance, and identify malfunctions • Write non-routine programs for systems • Consult with supervisors to resolve unusual system operation, maintenance, and warranty problems • Execute technical aspects of multiple projects, including programming, graphics development, start-up, certification testing, customer training, close-out documentation, and ongoing technical support • Identify project risks and help develop strategies to minimize impacts and control cost and deadline deviations • Work with Project Managers and supervisors on project coordination and quality recommendations • Mentor less experienced staff and may supervise workers testing, tuning, and adjusting equipment • Communicate with team members to improve operations and maintain current knowledge of company policies • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required
• High School/GED or equivalent experience • 2+ years of previous, related field experience • Solid technical skills and experience related to electronic security systems • Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions • Strong customer focus and ability to work under pressure • Ability to work without direct supervision • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills • Solid organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously • Advanced computer skills, including MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) • Good spreadsheet and data management skills • Good networking skills • Working knowledge of physical security and door hardware • Understanding of relay and relay logic • Preferred, but not required: experience in electronic security, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation • Preferred brand experience: Genetec, DMP, and March Video
