📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain full-stack applications powering Datavant’s healthcare data ecosystem • Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver exceptional user experiences • Develop scalable frontend applications, backend services, APIs, and data-driven solutions supporting millions of healthcare records and transactions • Guide technical design decisions and establish scalable, maintainable architecture patterns • Mentor engineers and contribute to technical excellence, ownership, and continuous learning • Own substantial projects end-to-end from technical design through implementation, deployment, and ongoing operation • Drive innovation and deliver solutions improving outcomes for healthcare organizations and patients • Share expertise through technical discussions, mentorship, and engineering blog contributions • Report to Russell Kirmayer

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing, building, and operating production software systems • Strong full-stack engineering experience, including modern frontend development and backend services • Experience building customer-facing applications using React, TypeScript, and modern web frameworks • Experience designing and developing scalable APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications • Ability to write high-quality, maintainable code and perform thoughtful code reviews • Demonstrated experience leading projects from concept to production and navigating complex technical challenges • Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering, product, and design teams • Passion for mentoring engineers • Backend technologies: Python, Go, Java, microservices, REST, GraphQL • Frontend technologies: TypeScript, React, Next.js • Infrastructure and cloud: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, IaC tools • Data technologies: Snowflake, Spark, SQL, S3 • ETL and pipelines: Airflow/Glue • Streaming: Kafka or Kinesis • Observability: DataDog, Grafana, CloudWatch • Security: OAuth2/SAML, encryption, tokenization • This job is not eligible for employment sponsorship
