DAV (Disabled American Veterans) is a national nonprofit veterans service organization that provides a lifetime of support to veterans and their families. Every year it helps more than 1 million veterans access earned benefits (healthcare, education, disability), connects veterans to employment opportunities through career fairs and partnerships, and provides services such as transportation, assistance with VA benefits claims, disaster relief, support for homeless veterans, and adaptive recreation (e. g. , Winter Sports Clinic). DAV focuses on advocacy, direct service, and employment support to improve veterans’ quality of life.

📋 Description

• Responsible for cultivating and stewarding relationships with targeted donors and prospects to generate and grow planned and major gift revenue • Oversee a portfolio of 125-150 donors and prospects • Personally solicit assigned donor portfolio through face-to-face visits • Participate in each step of the donor development cycle • Complete 80-100 face-to-face visits per calendar year • Requires a minimum of 50% travel not including required travel to national headquarters and other events • Track and report relationship management activity using internal systems • Monitor quarterly and annual activity to achieve major gift revenue goals • Expected to be raising $1M or more by year 3 • Assist gift planning with blended gift opportunities, charitable gift annuities, and documentation of bequest gifts

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum five years’ experience required, with major gift fundraising or direct customer relationship management • A track record of securing $25K+ gifts • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn and effectively use other data sources and websites on a daily basis • General understanding of business/administrative procedures and systems • Polished verbal, written, and presentation skills • Creative problem solver • Valid driver’s license required
