📋 Description

• Design new software features and enhance existing code for At Scale and Enterprise Storage Products • Define, architect and implement next-generation enterprise storage services software and system architecture • Define and build administration and services front-ends and interfaces between on-prem and cloud storage instances (VMWare, OpenStack, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) • Interact with cross-functional teams to gather product requirements and translate into implementations • Balance hands-on contribution with technical guidance, including design and code review • Lead software development on key modules and test frameworks and ensure quality by example and peer review • Rapid prototype new product concepts/code and evangelize internally • Mentor other developers and assist engineering manager with scoping, schedule planning and maintenance • Produce and review product/architecture documentation for internal and external customers • Investigate industry trends and future product concepts and work with customers to resolve product issues • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed

🎯 Requirements

• BS or MS degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent • Minimum 15 years of software development experience • Minimum 8 years of C/C++ development on Linux • Strong software design and development skills and expert-level coding in C, C++ and object-oriented programming • Experience in storage product engineering and deep knowledge of storage interconnects and protocols (Ethernet, IB, Fibre Channel, NFS, SMB, S3, iSCSI) • Solid understanding of distributed systems, clusters, high availability, monitoring • Experience with storage internals, performance modeling, storage management paradigms and virtualization • Experience in agile development and use of test automation/DevOps (highly desirable) • Familiarity with web technologies and scripting (PHP, JavaScript, Python) and frameworks (Node.JS, React.JS, Angular.JS/Angular8) • Familiarity with databases (NoSQL and SQL relational DBs) • Experience with cloud/storage integrations (VMWare, OpenStack, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) • Technical leadership experience defining, designing and delivering enterprise-class storage or cloud solutions • Experience working with and managing geographically distributed development teams • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for Engineers, Executives, Customers and Field Personnel • Understanding of networking concepts: IP, TCP, routing • Ability to participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed
