Derick Dermatology is a multi-location dermatology practice providing medical, surgical, and cosmetic skin care services to adult and pediatric patients across the Chicago, IL and Tampa Bay, FL areas. The practice offers treatments including skin cancer diagnosis and surgical removal (including Mohs surgery), general medical dermatology, cosmetic procedures (Botox, fillers, laser treatments), in-house dermatopathology, and patient-facing services such as online scheduling, patient portal access, and insurance-friendly billing.

📋 Description

• Enter payments within an EMR system • Generate invoices to be sent to patients • Accurately code medical claims and send them electronically to insurance payers each day • Handle inbound and outbound calls • Verify insurance and assist patients with insurance questions • Work patient and insurance aged receivables • Collect, post, and manage patient account payments • Prepare and review patient statements • Import and balance EFTs • Identify and correct rejected claims • Review delinquent accounts and contact patients for collection purposes • Process payments from insurance companies • Follow up to determine whether claims are accepted or denied • Review and appeal unpaid and denied claims • Evaluate medical record documentation to ensure appropriate CPT and ICD-10 billing • Obtain precertification for specific procedures when required • Investigate and report suspected insurance fraud

🎯 Requirements

• Candidates must live in Alabama • Official high school transcripts, diploma, or equivalency certificate • Ability to navigate between different computer tabs and systems while attending phone calls • Strong attention to detail • Ability to multitask • General understanding of insurance terminology • Ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff • Must have a dedicated workspace within the home • Must pass a Wi-Fi speed test • CPB or other Medical Billing Certification desired, but not required • CPC or Medical Coding Certification desired, but not required
