• Perform power system analysis and network modeling for reliability, regulatory, and quality requirements, including power flow, voltage stability, transient stability, SSO, and short-circuit analyses • Conduct generator and load connection and transmission planning studies • Prepare detailed technical reports and contribute to technical work products • Collaborate with a global team to execute studies and deliver high-quality solutions • Manage client relationships and expectations • Ensure on-time and within-budget delivery • Contribute to business development activities • Identify new client opportunities
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering • 6+ years of power systems analysis experience using PSLF or PSS/E and TSAT; experience with PSLF is a must • Experience with stability studies using PSLF, congestion analysis and cost modeling studies, or cluster feasibility studies in the CAISO footprint and with PG&E; experience with other ISOs or RTOs is a plus • Working knowledge of electric power systems, synchronous generators, motors, power electronic inverters, wind turbines, and solar • Proficiency with the PSLF software package, including load-flow, short-circuit, and transient stability analysis modules • Experience with alternative planning software such as TARA, PSS/E, DIgSILENT, or DSA Tools is highly desirable • Background in static and dynamic modeling of power system components in PSS/E or DSA Tools, including HVDC, VSC, SVC, STATCOM, and TCSC • Working knowledge of reliability standards and transmission system interconnection • Clear oral and written communication • Willingness or openness to relocation • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US or Canada • No employment visa or Canadian Labour Market Impact Assessment sponsorship available
