📋 Description
• Own integration and stress testing for agent behavior on production-representative Windows, macOS, and Linux machines • Architect and maintain the device test harness and VM-based test farm, including image builds, provisioning, and parallel nightly CI execution • Design performance, load, and long-duration soak tests • Define and verify agent utilization limits under load • Test the full agent lifecycle: installation, enrollment, configuration delivery, staged self-update, rollback, and uninstallation • Map product intent and detections to tests and close coverage gaps • Produce current reports on release quality, coverage, failures, and outstanding risk • Drive high-severity, cross-layer defects to root cause at the OS-internals level • Convert recurring failures into durable regression coverage • Collaborate directly with endpoint engineers by providing actionable diagnostics and coverage
🎯 Requirements
• 6+ years in software test, SDET, or quality engineering • Substantial end-to-end ownership of test infrastructure, including framework, CI, and reporting • Built a device, integration, or cross-platform test harness from scratch and carried it through to a trusted, gating state • Depth in operating-system behavior on at least two of Windows, macOS, and Linux, including process and resource accounting, install lifecycle, and agent- or driver-level runtime behavior • Strong Python and pytest skills • Ability to read and wire C/C++ and Rust test suites into CI • Experience running large test fleets across virtualized environments • Experience with CI systems, gating, parallelization, and artifact management • Track record of improving CI trustworthiness by reducing regression-suite runtime or converting unreliable suites into trusted gates • Rigorous debugging with reproduction, instrumentation, and root-cause analysis • Treat test infrastructure as production software: reviewed, versioned, and maintained • Preferred: Packer image builds with QEMU/KVM, VMware, or Parallels • Preferred: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI • Preferred: AWS, Azure, or GCP • Preferred: EDR, DLP, EPP, MDM, or systems-monitoring agent experience • Preferred: load and performance testing and stress-harness design • Preferred: desktop GUI automation such as PyAutoGUI, pywinauto, or uiautomation • Preferred: secure software development background • Preferred: AI-assisted tooling in a test workflow
