Finagra is an agribusiness operator that builds and runs profitable farms in emerging markets by combining capital, agronomy, technology and local entrepreneurship. It finances agreed inputs, equipment and farm infrastructure, provides crop plans and digital agronomy tools, and partners with local Rural Entrepreneur Partners (REPs) who manage operations and share profits (e. g. , 30% share of net profit). Finagra also connects production to buyers and manages the farm operating system; it is currently active in Kenya and preparing expansion into India.

📋 Description

• Report to the CEO, transitioning to the Global Corporate CFO once that role is established • Build the central finance function from scratch • Build business cases and economic models for new projects, regions, and capital investments, including feasibility, ROI/IRR, payback, and sensitivity analysis • Partner with commercial and operations leads to pressure-test project economics before capital is committed • Own finance-led forecasting for crop-cycle-driven operational performance and connect forecasts to actuals • Prepare monthly performance reviews linking financial results to operational drivers • Feed business-case rigor into market-entry decisions, including LATAM and SEA feasibility work from 2027 • Coordinate weekly cash positioning and 13-week rolling forecasts per country with the Treasurer • Execute payments and plan working capital around crop-cycle seasonality • Manage USD/KES and USD/INR foreign exchange monitoring, timing, and loss minimisation with the Treasurer • Manage bank relationships, account operations, and joint signatory duties with the Treasurer • Enforce the approval matrix across regional spend and monitor budget compliance • Test internal controls through transaction sampling • Design back-office systems and workflows • Manage vendor onboarding and contract compliance • Lead ERPNext rollout across treasury, procurement, and controls modules • Manage local accountants in each country, reviewing work, setting standards, and coaching for quality and consistency • Own the company-wide accounting policy • Potentially exercise payment release, spend-halt, bank-signatory, and external representation authority as determined by leadership

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in FP&A, controlling, treasury, or performance roles, ideally across a mix of these areas • Ability to build financial and investment models from a blank sheet • Comfort being the sole finance person in the building with full ownership of the work • Agribusiness, emerging-market, or project-finance-style economics experience is a strong plus • Willingness to travel and be hands-on in the field • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or CFA is a plus, not required
