📋 Description

• Lead Flagstar’s stress testing and capital planning processes under the direction of the Director of Capital Planning & Stress Testing • Coordinate cross-functional teams to execute stress test plans and collect and integrate required data and materials • Maintain and update capital planning documents, including the capital plan narrative, policies, and contingency plans • Lead internal stress test scenario design based on idiosyncratic risks and evaluate capital adequacy under adverse conditions • Manage review and challenge sessions on forecasted results, including PPNR and credit losses • Perform sensitivity analysis and apply appropriate overlays • Prepare and submit regulatory stress testing reports and the final capital plan document • Produce summaries of stress test results and recommended capital actions for senior management and Board review • Perform ad-hoc capital analyses, including peer comparisons • Ensure quality controls, data governance, consistency, and reliability of stress test results • Maintain an inventory of critical capital planning data elements and resolve data issues with Data Governance • Verify adherence to internal risk management standards and support regulatory, risk, and internal audits • Manage examination requests, company resources, program risks, deliverables, day-to-day planning, and resource allocation • Perform talent management functions including employment, performance evaluations, staff development and training, disciplinary actions, and succession planning • Provide input on capital efficiency and risk mitigation opportunities based on stress test insights • Uphold capital planning governance and ensure compliance with policies, management committee standards, Board standards, and regulatory requirements • Recommend and implement stress testing process improvements, model updates, and coordination enhancements • Stay current on Federal Reserve guidance, Basel capital standards, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices • Perform special projects and additional duties as required • Complete required compliance training and maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations

🎯 Requirements

• Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics or a related field, or equivalent work experience in a related discipline • 6+ years of experience in financial risk management, capital planning, or stress testing • Involvement in enterprise stress testing processes or regulatory capital plan preparation • Knowledge of regulatory capital requirements and stress testing frameworks, including DFAST/CCAR and Basel III • Proficiency in financial modeling and scenario analysis • Advanced Excel skills • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects or teams • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present complex financial analyses to senior executives • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines • Master's Degree or postgraduate equivalent in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field, or professional certification (CFA, FRM) preferred • Experience working at a bank subject to regulatory stress testing and dealing with regulatory examinations preferred • Familiarity with data governance and model risk management practices preferred • Exposure to liquidity risk or resolution planning preferred • Familiarity with data analysis tools or statistical modeling preferred • Travel requirements: 10% or less • No unusual physical exertion is involved • Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered in accordance with applicable fair chance laws
