📋 Description

• Assess patients using telephone and video technology in a virtual clinic environment • Independently diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, perform or order diagnostic tests and treatments, evaluate treatments, and provide follow-up care • Provide comprehensive and holistic nursing care, including health promotion, injury and illness treatment, and prevention • Function as practitioner, educator, and leader • Assess client presentation and urgency of care • Select the appropriate level of care and facilitate referrals • Determine required follow-up • Assess, diagnose, and prescribe independently and collaboratively according to professional standards, legislation, policies, and clinical guidelines • Coordinate treatment plans and follow-up based on assessments and client and family outcomes • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians • Communicate findings and diagnoses to clients and inter-professional teams • Discuss prognosis, treatment options, and outcomes • Document care in the client's permanent health record • Advocate for clients and refer them to appropriate providers, professionals, or services • Follow best practice guidelines

🎯 Requirements

• Graduation from a Nurse Practitioner program • Current or willingness to obtain licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing • Preferred 1 year of recent experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner; previous clinical experience will be considered • Experience working in emergency or urgent care considered an asset • Demonstrated knowledge of home and community health services Family All Ages (FAA) required • Experience practicing in a rural setting considered an asset • Exceptional clinical assessment and decision-making abilities • Demonstrated leadership qualities and problem-solving skills • Strong oral and written communication skills • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment • Very strong computer and technology skills for delivering virtual care • Experience and aptitude with e-consult is an asset • Commitment to professional development • Passion for telehealth • Satisfactory background screening result • Own computer system with 2 monitors, USB headset, webcam, and high-speed internet connection to connect through VPN • Legally able to work within Canada as a Nurse Practitioner • Current, active, and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license with the relevant provincial licensing board • Family All Ages (FAA) designation • Private home office space for remote work
