• Conduct in-depth spatial analysis using GIS software to extract insights from geospatial data • Develop and maintain geospatial databases and maps • Perform spatial interpolation, buffering, overlay analysis, and network analysis • Deliver GIS projects to clients according to required standards and procedures • Develop and maintain client data for online platforms • Collect, clean, and manage geospatial data from various sources • Ensure data quality and integrity • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver GIS solutions • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources • Communicate with clients • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in GIS
• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field • Strong proficiency in GIS software, e.g., ArcGIS and QGIS • Proficiency with GIS programming languages, e.g., Python and R • Proficiency with GIS frameworks, e.g., arcpy and pandas • Understanding of spatial data structures and algorithms • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Knowledge of forest management and forest data is an asset, especially in an Ontario context
