📋 Description

• Architect, design, blueprint, and lead development of the core fintech platform • Build scalable, reliable, efficient, highly resilient, and observable systems • Set technical direction and lead engineering quality from design through deployment • Raise standards for code quality, design patterns, and operational excellence • Lead complex cross-team initiatives spanning engineering teams and business domains • Steer cross-team planning and execution for strategic features • Promote architectural integrity, technical excellence, modern design patterns, and best practices • Address technical debt, bugs, and incidents promptly • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and sponsorship • Foster engineering ownership and continuous learning • Maintain engagement across multiple teams and serve as an accessible technical leader • Leverage third-party vendor data for AI/ML and analytical capabilities supporting small-business financing

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in technical leadership, mentorship, and sponsorship • Deep expertise designing and implementing complex, distributed backend systems • Experience building scalable architectures across multiple software applications and/or languages • Ruby on Rails required • Excellent written and verbal communication • Significant ability to influence others • Passion for learning and self-development • Several years of experience in agile software development • Experience with front-end architecture or a full-stack perspective • Understanding of how backend services impact end-user experience • Typically has a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or additional relevant experience • Authorization to work for any employer in Canada • Must answer whether future sponsorship to work in Canada is required
