• Perform complex non-standard engineering assignments involving design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, specifications, field tasks, field-problem resolution, and quality-event resolution • Independently review department work products, risk assessments, Apparent Cause Analyses, and Failure Modes and Effects Analyses • Propose solutions and work scope to the Supervisor and work autonomously on most assignments • Ensure compliance with government regulations, organizational, industry, and customer engineering standards • Evaluate, select, and apply technical techniques, procedures, and criteria for complex adaptations and modifications • Develop new or adapted products, methods, systems, or models that provide value-added customer solutions • Assess the impact of work on internal and external organizations • Work on special projects as directed • Suggest and implement process improvements • Participate in technical communications with internal customers • Work with Project Managers and Engineering teams on large projects supporting licensing of fuel products in commercial nuclear reactors • Create and execute project plans • Receive status updates from multiple Engineering disciplines and provide status updates to management • Facilitate solutions for technical issues involving Neutronics, Safety Analysis, Thermal-Hydraulics, or Fuel Rod Analyses • Deliver or support communications to customers or regulators
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; degrees in Physics, Engineering Technology, and Engineering Science may also be accepted depending on the position • Minimum of 5 years of related experience • Advanced knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques, and criteria • Good communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships and work collaboratively within a team environment • Advanced problem identification and problem resolution skills • Displays leadership characteristics • Exhibits questioning attitude and practices self-checking • Advanced proficiency with specialized software tools and programming languages as required by the role • Familiarity with safety analyses supporting the licensing basis for commercial nuclear power plants • Experience leading or managing a technical project with multiple teams/disciplines • Knowledge of Pressurized Water Reactor systems and function • Experience communicating technical subjects to multiple stakeholders
