📋 Description

• Lead a high-performing team of engineers, employees, internal contractors, and external contractors • Deliver high-impact features and improvements to core services and systems • Drive execution on projects supporting semi-annual and annual goals • Foster ownership, excellence, and psychological safety • Set team priorities, goals, and key metrics and hold the team accountable • Partner with engineering teams and product, design, and customer stakeholders • Build and develop a diverse, high-performing team through hiring, coaching, and growth opportunities • Balance business operations, foundational work, and new initiatives • Identify technical risks, system bottlenecks, and process inefficiencies • Drive decision-making by balancing customer value and business goals • Champion architectural quality, operational excellence, and technical strategy alignment • Navigate ambiguity, organizational change, and team transitions • Encourage experimentation, learning from failures, and innovation

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of related experience • Must be a US Citizen • Must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust 6C • Demonstrated track record of leading high-performing engineering teams • Experience managing employees, internal contractors, and external contractors • Experience managing the full software development lifecycle • Experience building, hiring, and developing diverse engineering teams • Experience setting technical direction and making architectural tradeoffs • Strong people management skills, including coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution • Ability to provide technical feedback on designs and architectural decisions without being hands-on keyboard • Understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and modern engineering practices • Experience establishing efficient processes and operational cadences • Demonstrated ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and clear communication • Growth mindset and commitment to continuous learning • Demonstrated use of AI and automation tools to enhance productivity and engineering outcomes
