• Install and commission drive systems and power systems at customer sites • Troubleshoot drive and power-system problems during scheduled port visits or at sea • Diagnose problems, determine resolutions, and implement corrective actions • Ensure the technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of equipment • Develop commissioning and maintenance procedures and execute customer training • Perform onsite project management and technical leadership duties • Resolve customer issues and provide customer satisfaction • Identify sales opportunities for service agreements, spare parts, training, and upgrades • Provide on-call support in response to customer service calls • Assist with the growth and direction of the North American business • Support engineering teams working on customer upgrade projects • Complete timely service reports and administrative requirements • Perform work onboard vessels in shipyards or offshore within GE/customer safety guidelines • Travel domestically or overseas to customer sites for extended periods
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university • Associate's Degree or related discipline from an accredited college or university with a minimum 5 additional years of related industry experience • High School diploma or GED equivalency with a minimum of 8 years of related industry experience • Must be a US Person with the ability to achieve security clearance for Department of Defense projects • Ability and willingness to travel 85% of the time on short notice • Must be physically fit to board vessels offshore • Potential offshore work requires passing Helicopter Underwater Egress Training (HUET) and an offshore survival course, including swimming pool activities • Ability to work extended hours/overtime during peak periods and emergencies • Strong computer proficiency and technical aptitude, including MS Office applications • Customer-facing experience within a Service environment is desired • Ability to execute increasingly complicated assignments requiring engineering skill, creative ability, and independent judgment • Ability to work in construction-type onsite environments with exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, extreme temperatures, electrical shock, trips, slips, falls, and excessive noise; PPE required
